What is XRP?
XRP is the native coin of the XRP Ledger, a network built for fast, cheap transfers of value. People often call it “Ripple”, but Ripple is a company and XRP is the coin; the price on this page is the price of XRP.
All 100 billion XRP were created at the start, so the total is fixed. The fee of every transaction is burned, and each account on the XRP Ledger must keep a small amount of XRP as a reserve.
What moves the XRP price?
The XRP price is formed by buying and selling in the market, and a few broad factors influence it. These are not predictions; they only explain why the number on the card changes:
- Supply and demand in the crypto market.
- Legal and regulatory news about XRP and the company Ripple, which has moved the price many times.
- How the network is used for payments and cross-border transfers.
- The mood of the wider market and the global economy.
How is the XRP price on this page calculated?
The card above shows the XRP (XRP) price in US dollars, with the 24-hour change and the time of the last update. Switch the currency in the card to see it in euros, UAE dirhams or Turkish lira: the value is the US dollar price multiplied by the market rate of that currency per US dollar. If your currency moves against the dollar, the local price of XRP moves even when its dollar price stands still.
The 24-hour change compares the current price with the price at this same moment yesterday. It describes the recent past and says nothing about tomorrow.
The price on this page is for display and reference only, not a trade price. When you pay or convert in Waletifi, the exact amount comes from a signed quote with an expiry that you see before you confirm. If the price hasn’t updated for a few minutes, you see a warning next to it.
Hold, receive and send XRP in Waletifi
Waletifi supports the XRP Ledger and shows the transfer fee before you confirm. Many exchanges ask for a destination tag when you deposit XRP; check the deposit details of the receiving side carefully, because a deposit without a required tag can go missing.
To get XRP, you can deposit it from an exchange or another wallet to your own address and, where conversion is available for it, convert from another asset; the minimum you receive and every fee are shown before you confirm. Availability depends on the pair and your country.
Keys are created and kept only on your phone, and we can’t touch your funds. Write your 24-word recovery phrase on paper and keep it somewhere safe.
Know the risks
Crypto prices can move a lot in a single day, and XRP is no exception. This page is not advice to buy or sell and promises no returns; only put in money you can afford to see go down.
