Add your tax details
In the app, go to “My shop” › “Shop tools” › “Tax details”. Choose your tax number type, enter the number and your registered legal name. The app checks the format for your country:
- UAE: Tax Registration Number (TRN), 15 digits
- Saudi Arabia: VAT number, 15 digits
- Bahrain: VAT number, 15 digits
- Oman: OM followed by 10 digits
- Turkey: Tax ID (VKN), 10 digits, or TCKN
- Pakistan: National Tax Number (NTN)
- Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Afghanistan: your tax number in the general format
Turning VAT on
Once your tax number is saved, switch on “Prices include VAT” at your country’s rate. VAT can only be turned on when Waletifi has configured the rate for your country, which may not be ready everywhere yet, and when you’ve entered a tax number. The number itself is optional: no country forces you to add one, and you can sell without VAT.
What changes on your invoices
With VAT on, your prices are VAT-inclusive. Each invoice freezes its own VAT amount, net amount and your tax number when it is created, so later changes to your settings don’t rewrite old sales. The receipt shows your VAT number, the items, the payment network and the transaction hashes, or “cash” for cash sales.
Saudi Arabia: simplified tax invoice QR
Stores in Saudi Arabia get the ZATCA phase-1 QR code on their receipts, and the PDF is titled “Simplified Tax Invoice” or “Tax Invoice”. This covers phase 1 only. Waletifi does not connect to the Fatoora platform or any other government e-invoicing system.
Gold shops
Gold invoices in the web panel follow the VAT rule of your market. Outside Iran, VAT is applied to the whole total at your country’s configured rate, and you can override or turn it off. In Iran it applies only to the making charge and profit, and is off by default.
Records, not a tax filing
Waletifi keeps tidy records for your business: invoices, receipts, books and CSV exports. It is not an e-invoicing system, it does not submit anything to a tax authority, and it is not tax advice. Ask your accountant how crypto sales and VAT apply to you. Tax and VAT settings can be changed only in the app, not in the web panel.
