What does a crypto price in your currency mean?
A crypto price in your local currency is usually its US dollar (or USDT) price on global markets multiplied by the rate of your currency per US dollar. Most coins trade against USDT or dollars, so their base price is in dollars and the exchange rate turns it into euros, dirhams or lira.
This means a coin’s local price can move even when its dollar price stands still. If Bitcoin stays flat in dollars but your currency weakens against the dollar, Bitcoin’s price in your currency goes up.
Why do prices differ between sites and exchanges?
Every site or exchange takes its price from its own market or source and calculates it in its own way, so small differences are normal. Common reasons:
- The exchange rate used to convert the dollar price into your currency.
- Last trade price versus the average of buy and sell offers.
- Update timing; in a fast market a few seconds make a difference.
- Market depth; in low-volume markets one large order moves the price.
- Each exchange’s fees and withdrawal limits.
What does the 24h change show?
The 24h change shows how far the current price has moved up or down compared with the price exactly 24 hours ago. The window rolls forward continuously, so it always compares with this same moment yesterday, not with the start of the day.
In a local currency, the change mixes the coin’s own move with the move of your currency against the dollar, so the dollar and local changes can differ on the same day, even in direction. Either way, the 24h change describes the recent past and says nothing about tomorrow.
Volatility and risk
Crypto prices can move a lot in a single day, and smaller, low-volume coins usually swing harder. USDT and USDC are stablecoins designed to track the US dollar, so they move far less, but they still depend on their issuers.

Where should you keep your crypto?
In a non-custodial wallet the private key is yours alone, so no exchange can move your balance or freeze your account. In return, keeping your recovery phrase safe is your responsibility.
Waletifi is a non-custodial wallet for Bitcoin, Ethereum, TON, BNB Smart Chain, Tron, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Stellar, Avalanche and Polygon on their own networks, plus USDT on several networks. Everything sits under one 24-word recovery phrase that also works in other standard wallets, and you see every balance in your own currency.
Keys are created and kept only on your phone, and we can’t touch your funds.
