What is a tokenized stock?
A tokenized stock is a token on the Ethereum network, issued by a special-purpose company of a regulated issuer, that is backed 1:1 by real shares held with a US broker, plus a buffer. Its price tracks the price of the share, and dividends are not paid out separately but reinvested into the token’s price.
It is not the share itself. Holding the token gives you no voting rights and no direct ownership of the company; what you hold is a claim on the issuer, which holds the shares behind the tokens.
How buying tokenized stocks works in Waletifi
Once the section is available in your country, buying a tokenized share takes a few steps inside the app:
- Open the Stocks section and choose a company.
- Enter how much USDT you want to spend.
- Check the review screen: the number of tokens you get, the conversion fee and the Ethereum network fee, paid in ETH.
- Confirm with your fingerprint or PIN; the transaction is signed on your phone.
- The tokens arrive in your own wallet, and you can sell them back to USDT in the same section.
Your keys, your tokens
Waletifi is a non-custodial wallet: your keys stay on your phone and the tokens sit in your own Ethereum address, not in an account held by us. Waletifi’s server only provides chain data and relays the transaction you already signed; it can never move your tokens.
Your one 24-word recovery phrase also covers your Ethereum address, so the tokens can be seen in another standard wallet if Waletifi is ever unavailable.
The five stocks in the section

Tesla (TSLA, Nasdaq) builds electric cars and energy storage and solar products.
Alphabet (GOOGL, Nasdaq) is the parent company of Google, including Search, YouTube, Android and Google Cloud; GOOGL is its Class A share.
SpaceX (SPCX, Nasdaq) builds rockets and spacecraft and runs the Starlink satellite internet service; it listed on Nasdaq on 12 June 2026.
Risks you should know before buying
Tokenized stocks carry the ups and downs of the share plus some risks of their own:
- Issuer control: the issuer can pause transfers, block addresses and even remove tokens from an address.
- Redeeming for the underlying value directly with the issuer requires identity verification.
- Limited liquidity: the market for these tokens on the network is small, so large trades can move the price.
- Market hours: the US market is open 9:30 to 16:00 New York time on weekdays; on weekends, US holidays and overnight the price can gap.
- Fake tokens: look-alike contracts and fake stock tokens are a common scam, so only buy through the Stocks section in the app.
- The issuer may restrict addresses it associates with certain countries, including sanctioned countries such as Iran and Afghanistan; consider this like the other risks before buying.
