How a gift link works
When you create a gift, the app sets up a one-off gift contract and gives you a link. You share the link; the recipient opens it and claims the gift to any TON address. They don’t need to install Waletifi first.
- Supported: TON and USDT on TON
- Claimable without the app
- The recipient gets exactly the gift amount
Private by design
The secret part of the link sits after the “#” and stays in the link itself: it never reaches Waletifi’s server. That also means whoever has the link can claim the gift, so share it only with the person it is for, in a private chat.
Fees and leftovers
Network and contract fees are shown to you, the sender, before you send, so the recipient receives exactly the amount you chose. Anything left over after the claim goes back to you.
Unclaimed gifts come back
If nobody claims the gift before it expires, you can take it back to your wallet. Gift links depend on your country; the app shows them where they are available.
When a gift link is useful
Gift links are handy when you don’t know the other person’s address, or when they don’t have a wallet yet. Some common uses:
- A birthday or holiday gift in USDT for a friend or relative
- Introducing someone to crypto without asking them to set up a wallet first
- Paying a friend back by sending the link in a private chat
- Rewarding a helper or a team member with a small amount of TON
