How to buy US stocks with USDT
You can follow companies such as NVIDIA, Apple and Tesla from your own crypto wallet by buying tokenized shares with USDT, without opening a foreign brokerage account. This guide explains what you need, the steps in Waletifi, what it costs and what you should understand before you buy.
What you are buying: a tokenized share
A tokenized share is a token on the Ethereum network whose price follows a listed company's stock. The tokens in Waletifi are backed 1:1 by real shares held with a US broker, so their price tracks the share on the exchange.
It is not the share itself. You hold a claim on the token issuer, with no voting rights, and dividends are reinvested into the token's price instead of being paid out.
What you need before you start
- The Waletifi app, updated to the latest version. The Stocks section appears only where it is enabled for your country.
- USDT in your wallet. If you start with local currency, buy USDT first; other coins can be converted to USDT in the app.
- A small amount of ETH for the Ethereum network fee. The app warns you if it is missing.
- Your recovery phrase written down safely, since the shares sit in your own wallet.
Step by step in Waletifi
- Open the Stocks section from the Market tab.
- Choose the company, for example NVIDIA (NVDA) or Apple (AAPL).
- Enter the amount of USDT you want to spend. You can buy a fraction of a share.
- On the review screen, check the number of tokens, the conversion fee and the network fee in ETH.
- Confirm with your fingerprint or PIN. The transaction is signed on your phone and the tokens land in your own Ethereum address.
Which stocks can you buy?
The Stocks section currently lists five companies. Each has its own page with the details:
| Company | Ticker | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA | NVDA | AI and graphics chips |
| Apple | AAPL | iPhone, Mac and services |
| Tesla | TSLA | Electric cars and energy storage |
| Alphabet (Google) | GOOGL | Search, YouTube, Android and cloud |
| SpaceX | SPCX | Rockets and Starlink satellite internet |
Costs and market hours
Two costs apply to every purchase and sale, and both are shown before you confirm: the conversion fee for swapping USDT into the token, and the Ethereum network fee, paid in ETH.
The US market is open 9:30 to 16:00 New York time on weekdays. Tokens can move on the blockchain at any hour, but while the market is closed the reference price does not update and can jump at the next open.
Risks to understand first
- Share prices can fall sharply, and no return is guaranteed.
- The issuer can pause transfers, block addresses and remove tokens from an address.
- The issuer may restrict addresses it associates with certain countries, including sanctioned countries such as Iran and Afghanistan; weigh this like the other risks.
- Liquidity on the network is limited, so a large order can move the price.
- Fake tokens with famous company names exist. Only buy through the Stocks section in the app.
