How to restore a wallet with your recovery phrase
To restore a wallet in Waletifi, install the app, tap “I have a wallet · Import” and enter your 24 words in order. The app finds the right wallet version, you set a new PIN, and your assets come back. Because the phrase is standard, you can also open it in other wallets if Waletifi is ever unavailable.
Step 1: get ready
You need your 24 words on paper and somewhere private. Install the app from waletifi.com, and if “Where do you live?” appears, pick your country and language and tap “Continue”.
On the welcome screen tap “I have a wallet · Import”. Never enter the words with anyone watching.
Step 2: enter the words
The “Import wallet” screen says “Enter 24 words separated by spaces”. Each word you type and finish turns into a numbered chip, and word suggestions appear under the field.
An invalid word turns red. Tap a chip to edit it, and “Clear” empties the list. A counter shows “N of 24 words”, and like the creation screens this one blocks screenshots.
Step 3: tap “Find wallet”
Once all 24 words are in, tap “Find wallet”. For TON the app derives the three common versions, V5R1, V4R2 and V3R2, and asks the network for each one’s balance and history. If the phrase is not valid you see “Invalid recovery phrase”.
There are several versions because older TON wallets used different contracts. The one with a balance or history is selected.
Step 4: the “Wallet found” card
The screen is called “Wallet found” and says “The version with a balance and history was selected”. It has four rows:
- “Version”: for example W5 · v5r1.
- “Address”: a shortened TON address.
- “Balance”: an approximate value.
- “Other versions”: the versions that were checked, with a note such as “No balance”.
Step 5: continue and set a new PIN
Tap “Continue with this wallet”, set a new 6-digit PIN and optionally enable fingerprint. The PIN of an old wallet does not carry over; this one only unlocks the key on this phone.
If the connection fails, the app shows “Wallet balance not checked” and never calls a version empty. Reconnect and search again.
Other networks, and restoring outside Waletifi
The same 24 words also create addresses on Ethereum and other EVM networks, Tron, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana, XRP and Stellar, each on its standard BIP39 path.
So if Waletifi were unavailable, you could open TON in any standard TON wallet and the other networks in a standard BIP39 wallet. Only type the phrase into trusted apps on your own device, never into “phrase checker” websites.
Common mistakes
If the restore does not work, check these:
- A word is misspelled or out of order. Fix the red chips.
- Your phrase has 12 words; this screen asks for 24.
- Your old wallet used another TON version. Look at “Other versions” after the search.
- The network data has not arrived yet. Balances on some networks can show up a little later on the home screen.
